Per recent claims from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a source provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, declared in a news release that the prison’s warden was assisting the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unknown, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for her and her guests.

The visits reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was provided directions about who she should tell her contacts to call and how staff would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she reportedly employed the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the warden to digitize and send to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Reported

Further perks reportedly provided to her include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the White House said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Maxwell told friends and family in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her previous prison.

In August, she was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most detainees are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as Donald Trump's private attorney.

This questioning came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around Trump's own connections to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, the congressman also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the chief executive to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official attend a open legislative session to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to the President.

He inquired whether he had discussed a possible clemency for the convict with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her attorneys, family or agents have made any commitments to the President or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the inquiries by 24 November.

In October, the US supreme court rejected an appeal from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
