Charli XCX Embraces a Twisted Persona of Herself in Mockumentary Preview
The Grammy-winning artist is preparing for a major big screen appearance in 2026, kicking off with the fictional documentary titled The Moment.
In the film, Charli plays what she refers to as a hell version of her public image.
It’s the realest depiction of the entertainment world that I’ve ever encountered, Charli commented.
She clarified in a conversation: It’s far from a live performance documentary, but the idea stemmed from the demand to create one.

The debut trailer, released on Thursday, mixes real clips from her live performances with fictionalized off-stage interactions.
The film is directed and co-written by the director, who revealed that the plot focuses on a scenario where the singer made entirely different choices throughout the promotion of her smash hit album Brat.
